Denise Ham is director of the London Conducting Academy and has an international reputation as a teacher of conducting giving classes throughout the UK,
Europe, Norway and Australia. From 1989 to 2009 she was tutor of undergraduate conducting at the Royal Academy of Music and from 2006 to 2016 established the orchestral conducting course at Blackheath Conservatoire, London. She has held principal conductorships with the Worcestershire Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Conservatoire, Aberdeenshire Youth Orchestra and Cheltenham Chamber Orchestra. She is currently principal conductor of the Bournemouth Rehearsal Orchestra. Her instructional DVD, The Craft of Conducting, has sold throughout Europe, the United States, Australia and the Far East.
Toby Purser is presently the holder of an ENO Mackerras Conducting Fellowship, is Artistic Director and Founder of the Orion Orchestra, Artistic Director of the Peace and Prosperity Trust and Music Director of Sussex Opera.
He studied with George Hurst, Ilya Musin and Colin Metters. UK orchestras he has conducted include the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra, London Concert Orchestra, Sinfonia Viva and the Orchestra of Opera
North. Recent opera performances have included The Marriage of Figaro, La Traviata and Turn of the Screw (ENO), Le Comte Ory (Chelsea Opera Group), La fille du regiment and Orpheus in the Underworld (Opera Della Luna at Iford Arts), as well as recording a Bel Canto CD with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and tenor Jesús León. As a regular guest at Grange Park Opera he has conducted Fortunio, Madam Butterfly, Eugene Onegin and Rigoletto.
